Lord Aswod, internationally known as Dj LORD, originally hails from Savannah, Ga., and now calls Atlanta home. Lord has been acknowledged for years in the competition circuit as one of the best turntablists in the world.
His role models in the industry include Grand Master Flash, Jam Master Jay, Mix Master Ice, and Jazzy Jeff. Recognizing their skill, LORD spent years honing his craft to raise his caliber amongst these renowned greats. After demonstrating his turntable expertise for members of one of Hip Hops immortal pioneer groups, Public Enemy, LORD stepped up to fill the shoes of their legendary DJ, Terminator X.
In 1999, LORD joined Public Enemy on their 40th World Tour. Soon after, LORD was granted his own performance segment within the PE show. It is with these performances that LORD gained worldwide recognition and acceptance amongst an elite group of turntablists and soon became a highly sought after commodity. While DJ battles and Hip Hop have been at the foundation of his career, LORD is also widely recognized in the Drum & Bass arena; captivating audiences with his mesmerizing fusion of Drum & Bass with Hip Hop breaks and beats. A firsthand look into the world of Lord and the art of turntablism is documented in the DVD, Dj LORD The Turntablist Chronicles, released in 2004.
In addition to PE, LORD is currently touring solo as well as with Flavor Flav in his solo effort and art exhibition Arts, Beats + Lyrics. He has previously performed with rock band Confrontation Camp and recently dubstep giants TrillBASS.
Past appearances include performances all over the U.S., South Africa, Egypt, Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan, Australia, Brazil, the United Kingdom, Spain, Russia, Italy, Greece, and Serbia to name a few as well as numerous turntable battles, competitions and showcases.

Dj LORD created the following mix while touring with Public Enemy in Southern California over the 2012 Martin Luther King holiday weekend. The shows included the Occupy Skid Row Music Festival where Chuck D and Public Enemy, along with a dozen or more (mostly old school Los Angeles) hip-hop acts put on the free concert for the residents of Los Angeles' desolate Skid Row district. This freestyle mix captures the feeling of the that special day, and weekend.
